Traveling from Los Angeles, Winston Bird (trumpet) has truly earned his "Favorite" status among all the great musicians returning in November.
Combination of Traditional, Latin and Smooth Jazz, lots of style, some bebop, lot's of mood. Eclectic. Reminiscent of John Faddis, Arturo Sandoval and Clifford Brown. One critic wrote of Byrd's playing, "a smooth concoction that seems to dwell somewhere between Grover Washington and Steely Dan." You've got to catch Winston and his Sextet at Carney's Main Room on Friday, November 9th!
