These clinics will help saxophone players,
of all levels, to understand how to get as
deep as possible in the essence of 'real-time'
improvisation -- with inspiration and mental-control
through...Jazz Improvisation.
Tim Price will cover the Basic Rules for a
good creative improvisation, the art of improvising
on different styles, including jazz, blues,
rock, Brazilian, How to communicate with other
improvisers, solo improvisations, collective
improvisations, how to get a magnetic without
losing any concentration and music power.
He will work with different techniques to
explore and learn how to improvise through
the standards, songs, real books, original
material, spontaneous material, audio books,
music videos, mp3, etc. Evolve your playing
through a practical system of learning and
mastering the many skills used in Jazz. Tim's
ultimate aim is a development of a personal
conscious and creative improvisational style
for players of every level and style.

Monnette Sudler will perform
and lecture/demonstrate guitar techniques,
answer questions and talk about related life
experiences. All persons are welcome to come
listen and/or participate.
Advanced
and intermediate workshop:
Monnette Sudler will perform, demonstrate,
discuss and provide reference materials on
open tunings, chord scale relationships for
improvisation, and advanced rhythmic variations
for accompaniment emphasizing the music of
Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk and Oscar Brown,
Jr. Please bring your guitars to participate
in ensemble activities!
Beginners
Workshop:
Monnette Sudler will perform, demonstrate,
discuss and provide reference materials on:
Tuning your guitar
Playing basic chord progressions
Techniques for practicing
Introductory chords for jazz and rhythmic
variations for accompaniment emphasizing the
music of Herbie Mann.
Beginners are invited to bring their guitar.
* Special note: Individual instruction is
not provided during workshops.
There will be time for questions during the
last 10 minutes of both workshops.
